Ting Chang
Ting Chang is a clarinet educator from Taiwan currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts at Boston University, where she studies with Rob Patterson. She previously earned her Master of Music from Indiana University and her Bachelor of Music from National Taiwan Normal University.
As an active performer, Ting serves as Principal Clarinet of the Boston Civic Symphony. Her achievements include second place at the Buffet Crampon Clarinet Competition, third place at the Boston University Chamber Music Competition, and some other competitions.
Passionate about pedagogy, Ting serves as a Teaching Assistant at Boston University, coaching ensembles and providing individual instruction. She also maintains a private studio in the Boston area. Her teaching philosophy emphasizes strong technical foundations and expressive playing, dedicated to inspiring students and audiences alike through her commitment to musical excellence.
