She studied Carnatic violin alongside voice, and has performed around the world, most notably in the Kanchipuram Temple.
Kavita is incredibly excited to join the Strings Faculty at the Community Music Center of Boston, where she will teach private violin/viola lessons to all ages, lead beginner strings classes, and direct the Junior Strings Ensemble. She is also on the faculty of Sharon Music Academy, where she teaches violin/viola as well as Carnatic voice and violin.
In 2020, she received her Masters in Music from Boston University where she studied violin with Bayla Keyes and discovered a passion for historical performance. She obtained her Bachelors in Music from Baldwin Wallace University’s Conservatory of Music, where she studied violin performance along with viola, voice, and chamber music.
When she’s not playing music or teaching, you can find Kavita reading, drinking tea, or cuddling with her cat, Leaf.
