Introduce your child to the magic of violin in this engaging introductory class! Designed for ages 4–7, Beginning Strings builds a strong foundation in violin technique, music fundamentals, and preparation for private instruction.

This small group class focuses on forming a solid foundation for violinists while preparing students for private lessons, elementary group classes, and ensembles. Classes are limited to 5 students to ensure individualized attention.

What to Expect:

Start Playing Right Away: From the first class, students will create, read, and perform music.

Hands-On Learning: Over the first few weeks, students will build essential musical skills like note recognition, rhythm, and technique through engaging, interactive activities.

Practice at Home: Students are encouraged skills learned in class to continue developing their musicianship.

Exciting Finale: Each semester concludes with an in-class performance where students showcase their progress in a supportive and celebratory environment.

Materials: Students must have at least one instrument at home or rent through CMCB or a third party (e.g., Johnson String). Violins will be assigned based on inventory and enrollment. For instrument rental questions, contact Hannah Elizabeth at hetobias@cmcb.org.

For questions about your child’s musical journey at CMCB, contact our Student Services Team at registration@cmcb.org.
