Open to all instrumentalists of any age, our new Adult Beginner Band provides a beginner-friendly musical group in which our adult members can come together as a community. All skill levels are welcomed, and no auditions required! The class will be fully accessible for our members with us being able to provide instruments as needed. Instrument rentals are $65/semester or $130 for the full year, and we can also make recommendations for a place to purchase one.
What to Expect
A Musical Community: Whether you are completely new to music, looking to try out a completely different instrument, or interested in making connections and friendships with other artsy adults, the Adult Beginner Band is a great option for you!
Side-by-Side Instruction: Our instructor, Mark Perez, is not only a conductor but a fellow performer as well! Mark is able to jump into the ensemble on all different instrument to provide direct support for each member.
Diverse Repertoire: Explore a range of pieces from different styles and genres, including original arrangements created by Mark to best match the individuals in the ensemble. Feel free to bring your own music to read as well!
Exciting Finale: There will be performance opportunities each semester for the ensemble to share the music they rehearsed with friends, family, and the larger CMCB community. There will also be ample opportunities for solos/solis for members that want to showcase their individual talents.
