Adult Beginner Band

An adult student playing the drums.

Thursdays, 6:30 – 8:00 PM

Open to all instrumentalists of any age, our new Adult Beginner Band provides a beginner-friendly musical group in which our adult members can come together as a community. All skill levels are welcomed, and no auditions required! The class will be fully accessible for our members with us being able to provide instruments as needed. Instrument rentals are $65/semester or $130 for the full year, and we can also make recommendations for a place to purchase one.

Our instructor, Mark Perez, will serve as the conductor, teaching artist, and fellow performer with an emphasis on this being a side-by-side experience. With experience of teaching all of the traditional band and orchestra instruments, Mark is able to jump in the ensemble on all the different instruments to provide support for the members. Repertoire includes band standards, modern pop music and original compositions. All arrangements of music will be created by the instructor, and students are welcome to bring in their own musical materials as well!

There will be performance opportunities each semester for the ensemble to share the music they rehearsed with friends, family, and the larger CMCB community. There will be ample opportunities for solos/solis for members that want to showcase their individual talents.

Instructor(s): Mark Perez
Ages: 18+
