Formerly known as the Intensive Study Project, RAP students participate in a program of varied musical activities, including: private lessons, chamber ensembles, and music theory/ear training classes.  At the end of the year, each student will present an individual project on a musical subject of the student’s choosing at the Young Composers Festival.

The 2024-2025 RAP Program will begin on Saturday, September 14th.

The RAP Curriculum Includes:

  • Private lessons with a CMCB instructor (required, billed separately)
  • Chamber Group (required)
  • Music Theory Course (required)
  • RAP Seminar (required)
  • Creation and presentation of an individual music project or performance at the Young Composers Festival (required)
  • Participation in at least one additional CMCB event (required)
  • Departmental Seminar for your instrument (strongly encouraged)

If you are interested in joining RAP, please begin by filling out the Student Interest Form by Saturday, September 7th. Chamber Music auditions and Music Theory placements will occur on September 14th, and the program will officially begin on September 21st.
