Planned Giving at CMCB

THE LEGACY & INNOVATION SOCIETY

The Legacy and Innovation Society honors those donors who have pledged a commitment to Community Music Center of Boston in their will, trust, or estate plan. We cherish the foresight and dedication of these generous supporters, whose planned gifts help bring arts education to life for many generations to come. Like our other giving societies, Legacy & Innovation members receive dedicated invitations to private events, opportunities to meet and get-to-know CMCB’s leadership, and, if they want, public recognition as a generous CMCB donor.

How can I support CMCB with a legacy gift in the future?

By making a bequest to CMCB in your will/trust or by naming CMCB as the beneficiary of a retirement or life insurance policy, you can leave a lasting legacy on our work in arts education. We believe in a world where every child thrives and rises to their full potential through participation in the arts: that’s possible today thanks to a century of caring supporters like you.

How do I make a bequest?

Bequests are very easy to make as part of the estate planning process, and any advisor can help you include Community Music Center of Boston in your will or trust. You can elect to leave either a dollar amount, or a percentage of your estate.

Is there paperwork required?

If you’re intending to include CMCB as a beneficiary of your estate, it is helpful for us to know about your plans and what inspired your gift. There is a simple one-page form that takes just a few minutes and helps us learn more, including if you have interest in public recognition or naming opportunities. However, this is not required to include CMCB in your estate plans!

What if I would like to learn more?

We would love to hear from you, and would be glad to speak with you about any questions you have, in a confidential and private conversation. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to Senior Director of Major & Institutional Gifts, Zach Sheets, and sheets@cmcb.org or (617) 482-7494.

And if I have already included CMCB in my estate plans?

We would be pleased to welcome you into the Legacy & Innovation Society. Please contact us to let us know!

Your generous commitment means a lot to us, and we hope you know that your planned gift will help a new generation of children learn, grow, and participate joyfully in the arts. Please help us recognize your inspiring commitment to join a community that is supporting CMCB’s excellent work for generations to come by reaching out to Zach Sheets, Sr Dir of Major & Institutional Gifts, at sheets@cmcb.org or (617) 482-7494.
