You’ve mastered the fundamentals in Theory 1 and delved into the heart of harmony and form in Theory 2. But what if we told you there’s a universe of music that defies these familiar structures—music built on antique church modes, intricate mathematical calculations, or sounds you’ve yet to imagine? Advanced Theory is your launchpad into this exhilarating “outside-the-box” musical world! We’ll explore a vast landscape of unimaginable knowledge and fresh perspectives, equipping you with diverse new tools through engaging mini personal projects and dynamic seminars, all tailored by your instructor to ignite your unique musical curiosity and expand your creative horizons. Prepare to see, hear, and think about music in ways you never thought possible!

Prerequisites: Completion of Music Theory I and Music Theory II is recommended. For those without the prerequisite, please email Jared Field at jfield@cmcb.org for approval.
