Outdoor Music / 4 Parks / Block Party / FREE

JUNE 17, 2017     3:00-6:00 pm

“I encourage all of our residents and visitors to come out and enjoy the annual Fête de la Musique in celebration of the summer solstice. Boston’s parks and public spaces are incredible venues for live music and for celebrating the start of summer.”

Mayor Martin J. Walsh  (2016)

Fête de la Musique began in the summer of 1982 in Paris, France, and has become a world-wide event, celebrated in over 100 countries and 5 continents.

For the 5th year, Fête de la Musique will be celebrated in the South End, with live musicians filling the streets with a wide variety of music for all ages. Area businesses, organizations and neighborhood groups have partnered to deliver a diverse line-up of music to be freely enjoyed by the neighborhood, visitors and passersby.

This year, in addition to music in 4 South End parks, we are having a Block Party on Warren Avenue (between Clarendon and Berkeley) to celebrate the retirement of Community Music Center of Boston’s Executive Director, David Lapin. The Block Party will have live music from 3:00 – 6:00 pm, food and activities for all ages!
