Open to creators of all ages, 0-90. Registration required. FREE to attend.
Continuing to offer hybrid in-person and online programming, CMCB’s annual winter music festival is going online, and we want you to join us! This year’s theme is “Making Music in the Digital Age”.
2021 Workshops: A complete schedule of workshops will be announced in late January. Past sessions include: Breaking Down the Band, Music as a Catalyst for Social Change, Character and Theme in Film Music, and Introduction to Improvisation.
For CMCB Students: This year’s event will feature a performance of CMCB student creations, which can include music of any kind, including written compositions, songs, music created online using synthesizers or beat making programs, and more. This performance will be managed by CMCB theory faculty, Aidan Ramsay. We have limited spaces available on this performance and invite any CMCB student 12+ years old who would like to share their musical creation at the Young Composer’s Festival. Participants will be able to receive feedback and assistance from Aidan Ramsay in preparation for the event. The creation can be something that you have already completed, or a new creation. The submission deadline for your creation to be included on the performance is Saturday, January 30.
