Junior Wind Ensemble

Junior Wind Ensemble is an ensemble for students in their first three years of playing a wind instrument.  Students will learn the basics of playing in a wind ensemble, be exposed to new repertoire and improve their playing.  Junior Wind Ensemble is open to all wind instruments including brass and percussion.

Auditions

Annual Auditions are held in June and are for placement purposes only. Students should prepare 2 contrasting pieces of music and be prepared to play basic scales.

Conductor: Neil Godwin

Horn player Neil Godwin is an active chamber musician, orchestral performer, and pedagogue. Neil is a member of the Anemoi Woodwind Quintet, the Serenata Chamber Musicians, and the Garder Museum Chamber Orchestra. Additionally, he freelances with orchestras and ensembles throughout New England. Neil’s principle teachers include Eric Ruske, Dennis Behm, and Dr. Gary Greene on horn and Dr. Jay Dean and Dr. Timothy Koch in conducting. In addition to maintaining a private horn studio, Neil assists in the continued growth of the CMCB wind ensemble program.
