While the school year is coming to a close, things at CMCB are just heating up. We have a lot of programming that meets a wide-range of interests and will keep the music going through the summer.

June 24 – July 19, 2019

SummerARTS celebrates community, friendship, artistic development and self-expression with children ages 2-14. Our day program for ages 4-14 offers daily classes in singing music and playing instruments, as well as visual art, movement and dance, and creative dramatics culminating in a final performance. Children ages 2-3 years old with an adult partner may sample SummerARTS one morning per week.

SummerARTS is a four-week program with a full range of performing arts instruction for your child. We offer daily classes in music, dance, drama and visual arts as well as performance opportunities and a cultural field trip. Our 3:1 student-to-staff ratio combined with a stellar roster of professional teaching artists ensures a wonderful summer of arts experiences and friendship.

July 1 – July 26, 2019

For students currently in grades 2-8, SummerMUSIC is a unique, culturally enriching four-week summer program which offers individual attention, group instruction, and multiple opportunities for developing skills and self-expression. Young musicians currently in grades 2-8 will enjoy an exciting summertime experience while they study their instrument under our wind & string faculty.
Students in grades 7 and 8 may apply for our counselor-in-training program. Students should have 3-4 years playing a SummerMUSIC instrument, including some private instruction. These students, along with high school counselors, will mentor the younger students, based on the El Sistema model of music education.

EXTENDED DAY! 1:00 – 5:00 pm (Monday-Thursday). Community Music Center of Boston partners with South End Soccer to offer an extended day option for students. A participant can choose to extend their day to end at 5:00 pm by adding on this supplemental program.

At 1:00 pm, South End soccer participants will have a supervised walk to the Music Center’s South End location for a snack and to change their clothes. Then, they will walk with a counselor to Rotch Field (Randolph St. between Harrison & Albany Streets near E. Berkeley) for a clinic with South End Soccer between 3:00-4:00 pm. They will then proceed back to the Music Center for pick-up at 5:00 pm. The fee to participate in this extended day option is $90.
