Matt Bailin

Matt Bailin is a multi-instrumentalist, performer, songwriter, bandleader, and educator based in the Boston area. He studied the clarinet at the University of New Hampshire and has been performing in classical orchestras and jazz bands on his “home instrument” for over twenty years. Additionally, Matt regularly performs on the guitar and baritone saxophone in his own original bands, as well as in other groups as a sideman.

Matt has appeared on stage at local music festivals such as the Jamaica Plain Music Festival, Lowell Summer Music Series, HONK! Festival, and at venues across New England and the United States. His brass band The Party Band has opened for notable touring acts such as Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, and the Rebirth Brass Band. Other highlights include performances at the Museum of Fine Art in Boston, and Boston’s Institute of Contemporary Art.

Matt teaches the ukulele at the Community Music Center of Boston where he leads an adult ukulele choir. His passion is in helping students grow their self-confidence, focus their musicality, and reach their goals through the study of music.
