Online Lessons
CMCB is weighing all factors in order to provide safe programming in our building, and online. We plan in-person programming to resume in the fall. If the building must close due to a resurgence of COVID-19, we will move to 100% online programming. We will keep you updated on our status.



Our yearly calendar runs on a 35-week teaching schedule from September through June. We hold a 5-week summer session from June to July. The semester dates are as follows:

Fall SemesterSept. 12, 2020 – Jan 30, 2021

Spring Semester: Feb. 1 – June 19, 2021

Summer Session: June 29 – July 30, 2020

How to Register

We are excited to share with you that CMCB registration is now available online! Through our new system, you will be able to update your own account information, pay your bill, and register for classes and lessons.  Submit a completed Registration with 4-lesson deposit to our Registrar or our Assistant Registrar (contact information below). If you need to register another way, please contact our registration team. Registration is ongoing!


5 tips before you begin:
  1. This website can be accessed through a desktop computer or laptop. For further options, please contact our registration team (registration@cmcb.org).
  2. Current Students can receive an email with their Login/Password information by contacting our registration team (registration@cmcb.org).
  3. Once you reach checkout please select the “Pay Bill Later” option. As soon as your registration is processed, you will receive a confirmation email with available payment options.
  4. Our new online system serves families through two options: Registration (Register/Class Search), and Account Management (Make a payment/View account). You must log in separately to each page to access their features.
  5. Families who were enrolled during 2019 – 2020 must have their accounts up to date before registering for Fall 2020. Please contact our registration team to confirm your status (registration@cmcb.org).

Tuition may be paid in full, in halves, quarterly, or in monthly installments for the duration of the current school year. Additionally, we offer a Direct Debit program with automatic monthly payments for your convenience. If interested, please fill out the Direct Debit Form and return it to us in person, via email, or mail. For your security we will also take sensitive information over the phone. Financial aid is available.

PayPal: Please visitour PayPal page to make a payment via Paypal. In order to reconcile to the correct account and payment designation, please write your name ,Contact ID , and Registration payment ” in the “Add notes” section. Your Contact ID can be found in the right corner of your receipt.

Registration Fees

There is an annual $40.00 (individuals) or $50.00 (families) non-refundable fee for registration.

Music Theory Classes

$650 per year. Payable in full at time of registration.


$650 per 32 weeks for CMCB Youth Chorus, Wind Ensembles, Chamber Orchestra, String Ensembles, Piano Seminar, Rock Bands, Jazz Ensembles and Adult Chorus/Una Voce.

Early Childhood

Little Notes, Music & Movement, Beginning Instruments, Instrument Exploration: $425/semester Semesters are 16 weeks. Some classes can be prorated based on your start date and availability. Read for more information

Elementary Music

Beginning Folk Harp, Beginning Tin Whistle, Creative Movement & Dance: Movement for Young Musicians, DROP THE BEAT A Cappella Group (students entering grades 6–10), Glee Club, Intro to Trumpet and Trombone, Musical Theatre Performance, Music Theory for Young Musicians, Percussion Fundamentals, Pop/Rock Guitar & Accompaniment, Recorder, Clarinet, and Oboe for Beginners, Semi Private Cello, Semi Private Clarinet for Beginners, Semi Private Guitar, Semi Private Oboe for Beginners, Semi Private Piano, and Semi Private Voice.

Discounts and Financial Aid

Financial aid is available for the 2020 – 2021 School year. All applications should be in no later than August 15th. Please contact the registration team for more information.
Please note that our discount structure has changed for the 2020 – 2021 school year.
Private Lessons:
Full payment Discount: One Free Lesson
Family Discount: 10% off if two or more persons from 1 household are enrolled.
Adult Discounts: 15% off for all adults 55+
College Discount: 15% off – with valid student ID
Early Childhood:
Sibling discount: 25% off of a second child’s class
(Does not apply to one student taking multiple classes.)
Ensembles Discount:
20% off ensemble tuition, if enrolled in individual lessons, for: Chamber Orchestra, Pop/Rock Bands, Jazz Ensembles, String Ensembles, Wind Ensembles, Adult Ukulele Ensemble, Theory
30% off ensemble tuition, if enrolled in individual lessons, for: Una Voce or CMCB Youth Chorus

Financial Aid

Financial Aid is available for students in need of any age and ability level. We offer tuition reduction to students and families who qualify and we encourage all to apply. A completed application consists of a Financial Aid form (filled out as completely as possible) and the following supporting documents:

  • The first two pages of your most recent tax return
  • One month of paystubs and/or income/assistance documentation
  • Two separate monthly bills (ex: phone, internet, insurance, utilities, childcare, etc)

Financial aid applications can be scanned or faxed to our office. All awards will vary based on individual circumstances. Please note that students receiving financial aid are not eligible for other discounts. A Financial Aid form can be picked up in our office or downloaded below.

Community Music Center of Boston will award financial aid to any person who holds an EBT card. Awards will vary based on individual circumstances.
