Due to the COVID-19 stay-at-home order, CMCB is offering online lessons and classes! Registration is now open for early childhood and elementary classes and private lessons for children 8+ and adults. For CMCB Summer Program Registration, click here.

Our yearly calendar runs on a 35-week teaching schedule from September through June. We hold a 5-week summer session from June to July. The semester dates are as follows:

Fall SemesterSept. 6, 2019 – Jan 31, 2019

Spring Semester: Feb. 3 – June 13, 2019

Summer Session: June 23 – July 23, 2019

How to Register

Submit a completed Registration with 4-lesson deposit to our Registrar or our Assistant Registrar (contact information below). Forms can be mailed, emailed or faxed. Registration is ongoing!

Registration Forms: A completed Registration consists of a Registration Form and Student Intake Form. If registering more than one student from the same family please fill out the Additional Student Intake Form. All forms are available below.

Tuition may be paid in full, in halves, quarterly, or in monthly installments for the duration of the current school year. Additionally, we offer a Direct Debit program with automatic monthly payments for your convenience. If interested, please fill out the Direct Debit Form and return it to us in person, via email, or mail. For your security we will also take sensitive information over the phone. Financial aid is available.

Registration Fees

There is an annual $40.00 (individuals) or $50.00 (families) non-refundable fee for registration.

Music Theory Classes

$630 per year. Payable in full at time of registration.


$630 per 32 weeks for CMCB Youth Chorus, Wind Ensembles, Chamber Orchestra, String Ensembles, Piano Seminar, Rock Bands, Jazz Ensembles and Adult Chorus/Una Voce.

Early Childhood

Little Notes, Music & Movement, Beginning Instruments, Instrument Exploration: $425/semester Semesters are 16 weeks. Some classes can be prorated based on your start date and availability. Read for more information

Elementary Music

Beginning Folk Harp, Beginning Tin Whistle, Creative Movement & Dance: Movement for Young Musicians, DROP THE BEAT A Cappella Group (students entering grades 6–10), Glee Club, Intro to Trumpet and Trombone, Musical Theatre Performance, Music Theory for Young Musicians, Percussion Fundamentals, Pop/Rock Guitar & Accompaniment, Recorder, Clarinet, and Oboe for Beginners, Semi Private Cello, Semi Private Clarinet for Beginners, Semi Private Guitar, Semi Private Oboe for Beginners, Semi Private Piano, and Semi Private Voice.

Discounts and Financial Aid

Discounts for Private Lessons

  • 5% discount for payments in full at time of registration (September through December only).
  • 4% discount for half-year payments.
  • 10% discount for families registering two or more students.
  • 20% discount for currently enrolled college students.
  • 20% discount for adult students (55 years and older).

Students who are already registered for private instruction receive a 20% discount on ensemble fees and a 80% discount on chorus fees. Current adult students enrolled in private lessons can receive a 100% discount on Una Voce fees. Awards will vary based on individual circumstances.

Financial Aid

Financial Aid is available for students in need of any age and ability level. We offer tuition reduction to students and families who qualify and we encourage all to apply. A completed application consists of a Financial Aid form (filled out as completely as possible) and the following supporting documents:

  • The first two pages of your most recent tax return
  • One month of paystubs and/or income/assistance documentation
  • Two separate monthly bills (ex: phone, internet, insurance, utilities, childcare, etc)

Financial aid applications can be scanned or faxed to our office. All awards will vary based on individual circumstances. Please note that students receiving financial aid are not eligible for other discounts. A Financial Aid form can be picked up in our office or downloaded below.

Community Music Center of Boston will award financial aid to any person who holds an EBT card. Awards will vary based on individual circumstances.
