Fall Semester

Pre-Registration: June 4-16th

Pre-registration allows continuing students the opportunity to maintain or change their current schedule for the upcoming year. New student registration begins July 1.

Semester: Sept. 8, 2018 – Feb. 2, 2019

Spring Semester

Semester: Feb. 4 – June 15, 2019

Summer Session

Session: June 24 – July 26, 2019

How to Register

Submit a completed registration form with payment to the Registrar. Registration forms can be downloaded from the website or picked up in our main office. Registration is ongoing.

Online: Registration forms can be downloaded from our website at www.cmcb.org/registration. Completed forms can be mailed, emailed or faxed.

By Phone: Please feel free to contact our registration team to help place you in the program that fits your needs and goals.

In Person: Stop by the Music Center to meet our staff, see our space and discuss your lessons with our registration team.



Tuition may be paid in full, in halves, quarterly, or in nine monthly installments. Financial aid is available.

Registration Fees

There is an annual $40.00 (individuals) or $50.00 (families) non-refundable fee for registration.


Music Theory Classes

$600per year. Payable in full at time of registration.



$600 per 32 weeks for CMCB Youth Chorus, Wind Ensembles, Chamber Orchestra, String Ensembles, Piano Seminar, Rock Bands, Jazz Ensembles and Adult Chorus/Una Voce.


Early Childhood

Little Notes, Music & Movement, Beginning Instruments, Instrument Exploration: $400/semester 

Semesters are 16 weeks. Some classes can be prorated based on your start date and availability.

Elementary Music

Beginning Folk Harp, Beginning Tin Whistle, Creative Movement & Dance: Movement for Young Musicians, DROP THE BEAT A Cappella Group (students entering grades 6–10), Glee Club, Intro to Trumpet and Trombone, Musical Theatre Performance, Music Theory for Young Musicians, Percussion Fundamentals, Pop/Rock Guitar & Accompaniment, Recorder, Clarinet, and Oboe for Beginners, Semi Private Cello, Semi Private Clarinet for Beginners, Semi Private Guitar, Semi Private Oboe for Beginners, Semi Private Piano, and Semi Private Voice

Discounts and Financial Aid


  • 5% discount for payments in full at time of registration (September through December only).
  • 4% discount for half-year payments.
  • 10% discount for families registering two or more students.
  • 20% discount for currently enrolled college students.
  • 20% discount for adult students (55 years and older).

Students who are already registered for private instruction receive a 20% discount on ensemble fees and a 80% discount on chorus fees.

Current adult students and CMCB parents receive a 100% discount on Una Voce fees.

Community Music Center of Boston will award financial aid to any person who holds and EBT card. Awards will vary based on individual circumstances.

Financial Aid

Financial Aid is available for students in needs and of any age and ability level.

We offer substantial tuition reduction to students and families who qualify.

Financial Aid applications can be picked up in our office or downloaded from our website.
