Summer Programs, Lessons and Classes

Community Music Center of Boston offers a variety of summer opportunities for every age group.  Summer is the perfect time to try out an instrument during our short summer session, or take advantage of our punch card options in our early childhood program.  We hope you will join us for a summer filled with music, friends and fun!

Early Childhood

(5 months through 2 years)
Classes held at the Boston Public Library - South End
Using our rich folk tradition of songs, dances, tickles and bounces, these classes actively explore sounds, movement and the world around us with playfulness and joy. Sharing a special musical connection between children and their caregivers, we play, sing and dance using musical instruments and everyday materials.

Summer ARTS

(4  - 14 years)
Music ~ Movement ~ Art ~ Dance ~ Drama
SummerARTS celebrates community, friendship, artistic development and self-expression with children ages 4-14. Every day classes are offered in singing music and playing instruments, as well as visual art, movement and dance, and creative dramatics culminating in a final performance.

Summer MUSIC

(students currently in grades 2-8)

SummerMUSIC is a unique, culturally enriching four-week summer program which offers individual attention, group instruction, and multiple opportunities for developing skills and self-expression. Young musicians currently in grades 2-8 will enjoy an exciting summertime experience while they study their instrument under our wind & string faculty.

Private Lessons

(all ages)
A small summer session of private lessons will be offered for ages 7 through adults.  Lessons are held for 5 weeks on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.  Enrollment begins on May 2nd and lessons start on June 20, 2017. This is a great opportunity to try a few lessons in your instrument of choice!
