FiddleFest From Home

Fiddlefest is an annual event at the Community Music Center of Boston aimed around building community amongst CMCB Strings students and celebrating music and student work together. This event, normally a large scale gathering in Community Music Center of Boston’s Allen Hall in the Boston Center for the Arts, was reimagined online.

Students submitted solo, duo, and trio videos (with their families) compiled by Tim Paek, CMCB Faculty and cellist. Be sure to check out CMCB Alumna Deena Corkindale, violinist, who joined us as a special guest artist for Fiddlefest 2020. You can watch Deena’s performance at the link above, and be sure to scroll to the beginning to catch all of our student performers!

FiddleFest reminds all that sometimes just sending goodness out into the world is medicine enough.

Lecolion Washington, CMCB Executive Director

This video was first posted exclusively for CMCB students, family, and community to enjoy together. We are excited to share it with our wider community today. Thanks for watching!

“Fiddlefest is a reminder of the word “community” that is part of our title. As you watch the students perform with their parents, siblings, friends, and teachers, you will experience a realization that though we are all separated by the challenges of the moment, we are also seeking and finding opportunities to bond and connect in new and innovative ways. We are changing and evolving, and our students are helping us to find the way. That is CMCB. We always find a way to keep our community strong. As the world seeks answers to the questions of the moment, FiddleFest reminds all that sometimes just sending goodness out into the world is medicine enough.”

Special thanks also go to Scott Savage for emceeing FiddleFest this year, and to Ann Miklich, CMCB Strings Faculty Chair and Michael DePasquale, CMCB Director of In House Programs for their help in organizing this as an online event.
