On Tuesday, January 20th and Wednesday, January 21st, Allen Hall was filled with excited early childhood students between the ages of 4 and 7 who were ready to share their music making with their friends and family members. Students from the Beginning Instruments programs joined together for a culminating event filled with solo and group performances.

On January 20th, the event featured Beginning Voice and Piano students taught by Samantha Gambaccini and the Beginning Piano students taught by Anne Edgerton.  There were seven classes of students that performed.  Each student played their own solo piece accompanied by their teacher.  The January 21st event showcased the Beginning Drum students of Patrick Simard and the Beginning Piano students of Kathryn McKellar.  In addition, Beginning String students showcased their proficiencies on cello, led by Nicole Parks.  Wednesday’s event also included the guitar students of Javier Rosario.    Beginning Voice students performed solos as well as a choreographed version of Winter Wonderland while the Beginning Drum students’ performance energized Allen Hall.  Their last piece required audience participation so family and friends got to join in the music making as well! Both events ended with a pizza party and celebration of the accomplishments over the past 16 weeks.

“These culminating events are my favorite part of the semester!  It’s wonderful to see our youngest students sharing their music for the first time and to see the growth from our returning students from semester to semester.” – Holly Ann Marshall, Early Childhood Manager

The Early Childhood Program is currently accepting enrollment for the fall semester. Classes are available for ages 5 months – 7 years. Visit our early childhood page for more information on classes and registration.
