CMCB Executive Director Lecolion Washington and CAO Sarah Spinella recently attended the Chamber Music America Conference. Lecolion was the chair of the conference and is a member of the CMA board.

During the conference, he had the honor of introducing the keynote by George Lewis. The keynote explored the intersectionality of performing arts, community, and equity to illuminate the theme of this year’s conference, “Music, Equity, and Our Future.”

Also, he had his own workshop on “Interrogating Excellence” where he proved that diversifying an artistic space does NOT sacrifice quality. We give kudos to CMA for their continuing efforts towards equity.

Once Lecolion was back in town, he presented at Longy for their series “The Multifaceted Career,” where he talked about his career as a professional musician and educator.
