Will you help support our students? Support music education and therapy today!

Last year, supporters of Community Music Center of Boston like you helped provide nearly 7,000 students access to high quality music and arts education. While we are most known for providing private instrument instruction, we have also been leaders in music therapy services in the region.

Can you help us this year?
You have enabled us to transform lives citywide by using music-making as a vehicle to provide real therapeutic services for students of all ages and abilities. One particular student, Kaleigh, came to our Music Therapy department in 2009 when she was only 6 years old. Before becoming a student, Kaleigh had a very limited vocabulary and could only speak using gestures. Her sessions at first were only 15-20 minutes long, but she now spends up to 45 minutes weekly with her Music Center therapist.

Her mom says that music therapy “…has helped with her communication, social interaction, eye-contact, fine and gross motor skills, as well as hand-eye coordination. Even days where Kaleigh may be having a difficult time, music therapy seems to soothe her and help her change her mood when all else failed.”

These are vital life skills. Kaleigh has been readily transferring all that she has learned, and continues to learn, in her music therapy sessions to her life at school, helping her to grow both socially and academically!

We simply do not have the resources to provide the financial aid for all who come to us for music education and music therapy.

For over 30 years, the Music Center has been helping children and adults, like Kaleigh, with all types of life needs through the power of music therapy. We aim to support the whole person, addressing his or her social, physical, and emotional wellbeing. With your support, we can together strengthen our students’ abilities and help them believe in their potential and hopes. You can ensure that we will always be able to teach and support students like Kaleigh.

Together we can help realize their potentials and dreams!

Please make a one-time gift of $25, $50, $100, or $250, or even a monthly donation of $10 or $25 to support Boston’s students, regardless of age or ability, and provide the needed financial aid to allow all families access to music education and therapy.

Contributing is easier than ever by giving online at Whether you are able to give or not we are grateful for you and your continued support of Community Music Center of Boston.

Thank you from Kaleigh, her family, and your friends at the Music Center!

Warmest Wishes,

David Lapin
