Katherine Matasy, Director

If you have completed the fourth, fifth, or sixth grade and have completed one or two years of instruction in the clarinet (either in a school setting or private study,) you may apply to participate in our newest summer program!

Summer Winds is a unique, culturally enriching 4-week summer program for children in an air-conditioned location right in the heart of Boston. Summer Winds offers individual attention, group instruction, and multiple opportunities for developing skills and self-expression. Clarinet players entering the fifth, sixth, and seventh grades in fall 2009 will enjoy an exciting summertime experience while they study their instrument under the tutelage of CMCB's wind faculty. Activities include:

  • Daily group lessons in clarinet
  • Daily participation in a large ensemble or in a sectional rehearsal
  • Daily theory classes with games and computer access
  • Lessons in ear-training and rhythmic exercises
  • Fun & educational field trips
  • ...and more!
