		<description><![CDATA[Community Music Center of Boston presents the 19th Annual...]]></description>
			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Community Music Center of Boston presents the 19th Annual David Lapin Competition. CMCB students have been preparing performances for the past few months, culminating this Saturday with the best and the brightest playing for cash prizes.</p>
<p>Open to all instruments and voice, students in grades nine and under will perform at 12:30 pm in the finals of the Junior Division, and students in grades twelve and under will perform at 3:00 pm in the Senior Division.</p>
<p>Winners are chosen in each division by a panel of eminent judges drawn from the rich artistic Boston community, all unaffiliated with CMCB.<br />
This event is open to the public and FREE of charge.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>SummerMUSIC 2012 is almost here! SummerMUSIC is a unique, culturally enriching 4-week summer program for children in an air-conditioned location right in the heart of Boston. SummerMUSIC offers individual attention, group instruction, and multiple opportunities for developing skills and self-expression. Young musicians entering the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th or 7th grade in fall 2012 will enjoy an exciting summertime experience while they study their instrument under the tutelage of Music Center’s wind and string faculty.</p>

We offer daily classes in music, dance, drama and visual arts as well as performance opportunities and a cultural field trip. Our 3:1 student-to-staff ratio combined with a stellar roster of professional teaching artists ensures a wonderful summer of arts experiences and friendship. SummerARTS is located at the Music Center, an accredited, non-profit music school that serves groups and individuals of all ages, abilities and backgrounds.</p>

In addition to teaching the technical aspects of music making, Beatshop Boston incorporates traditional music theory concepts, like harmony,<span id="more-186"></span> melody and rhythm.</p>
<p>This workshop is for students of all backgrounds and ages.<br />
We provide scholarships for students and those in need.<br />
No experience with music required.</p>

<p>Topics Covered: sequencing, MIDI, synthesizer programming, drum programming, sampling, equalization, compression, delay, reverb, song structure, mixing, basic signal flow, and recording audio, in particular, vocal production.</p>
