Community Music Center of Boston believes in the unique power of music to transform the lives of individuals and their communities. Music stimulates our minds and bodies, expands our imagination, opens our hearts, and connects people to each other. Music can transport us to new places all the way across the globe or—sometimes exuberantly, sometimes quietly—back to a special place within ourselves. Music confirms who we are and what we are capable of becoming.

At CMCB, children and adults of all ages, abilities and backgrounds come together not only to learn how to make music, but to celebrate human potential. Stroll our halls, and take a moment to experience the musical instruments, voices and laughter drifting from the doors of CMCB classrooms and studios. You can feel the dedication of our faculty to their students and to the art of teaching. Our mission is as fresh and alive today as it was nearly 100 years ago.

CMCB programs now impact 5,000 children and adults each week at our South End home, and throughout Boston public schools, social service agencies and community centers. We continue to make music education available to all, granting over $140,000 yearly in scholarships to in-house students.

This year, our program offerings have expanded to include even more opportunities for children and adults. Please join us in celebrating our 98th year, and making music together!
